When you take your first look, it might look like any other Porsche. It’s jet-black and it appears just as stealthy as any Porsche on the highways today. Your first suspicion that it’s different, though, is by the inscription on the doors. In bright red paint you quickly notice the word, “ELECTRIC.” Upon closer inspection you then realize this is no ordinary Porsche, if there is such a thing. No, this is something very special – this is the first-ever all-electric Porsche, presented by the Electric Car Company. Recently, this new Porsche was taken for its first public test-drive by company consultant Paul Liddle, and the results are nothing short of sensational! The video can be seen at http://www.metacafe.com/watch/3778980/electric_porsche_by_electric_car_company_elcr/. As he drives, Liddle explains some awesome facts about this impressive unique machine. First, it’s completely quiet, though it still features the trademark Porsche speed. In fact, Liddle says there are times when the electric Porsche actually bests its gas-burning siblings, such as when it’s accelerating from 20-50 mph. Liddle’s other incredible EV Porsche proclamation is about maintenance; specifically, the fact that almost none is needed. He says that “only tires and brake pads” would be required, and that the battery life is expected to be about eight years, provided that the driver follows directions on how they are to be used (and not used). You owe it to yourself to take a closer look at this video. If you’re already thrilled about EVs, after watching this you’ll be downright giddy.
